Phil was born in Ireland and raised in Wellesley, Massachusetts. Phil worked as an engineer, a repo man, a stock day-trader, and a real estate investor.
He is former roommates and good friends with fellow poker player Antonio Esfandiari. The two of them star in a TV show, I Bet You, which airs on the INHD network.He was given the nickname "the Unibomber" by Gus Hansen. He is also called Darth Maul on occasion. Phil is known for his bizarre table antics such as doing push ups after winning a hand or laying on the floor after losing a hand.
Also known as a bit of an extremist, he regularly sky dives, rides motorcycle, scuba dives and many other adventuous activities. Probably best known for dating movie actress Jennifer Tilley.
