Tonight's Show...getting some answers

Hey guys,

just a note to tell you about tonight's show. We're going to have Jennifer "Jennicide" Leigh, who just recently graced the pages of Playboy Magazine, and then an interview i pre-recorded last night with Joe Hachem. Joe's had a tough week with a blowup in Monte Carlo, a flight to Vegas and then a hand at the WPT championship where some people are saying Joe made the worst fold in major tournament history. He talked with me about both incidents, explaining his thoguhts on the whole thing.

it's going be a good show and should put a lot of debate to bed. Be sure to check it out tonight at 8 PM EST over at roundersradio.com.

Stars And Stripes

Last night I played the The $335.00 rebuy tournament at the Bicycle Casino. We started with 2500 chips and in the first 3 hands I had KK,AA and only picked up a few chips.

Later in level 2 while I was in the BB I had 8-5 and the SB limped..Everyone else had folded and the SB had just come to the table,

The flop was 9-7-6...pretty good.. I checked and the turn was a K..The SB checked again after I saw him reach for his chips. The river was another K and the SB put his whole stack of 1500 in. I thought I let him catch up but I called any way and he turned over K-10 for a set but lost.

As usual I was card dead and I finally looked down at JJ, I made a raise after this Asian gentleman under the gun raised the pot to 300 when the blinds were 100-50. I re raised to 700 and he called...an ace hit the flop and it slowed me down but when he checked I fired in 1500,he called with 2 spades on the board and of course he hit his flush on the river with a KQ of spades in his hand, I now had 1700 chips left as we went to the break.

Level four started and I won a pot with 77 and know was back up to 4500 chips, I was in the cutoff with 4 limpers and I had 9-10 and called. The flop was 7-8-6 with 2 spades and it checked to me and I put 4300 chips in the middle because I did not want anyone chasing the flush. The re buys were over and we were at 200-100- with a 25 ante.

An aggressive player in the BB called me with 8-5clubs for top pair. He must of thought I was chasing the flush and called my all in. He was shocked to see I had flopped a straight again and he just got up and left.I am at 8700 chips now and feeling better about the night.

About a half hour later I look down at Ah-Kd and I raise with 4 limpers and get called by 2. I put 1200 into the pot in the cutoff again ,and still had 2 callers. I thought maybe some one was slow playing KK or AA. Here is where I made a mistake.

The flop was Ad-Qd-8c....One guy went all in for 4200 chips and I didn't look at the lucky Asian guy and called the 4300. I should of layed down because I thought the guy may have hit a set of 8's and was afraid of the flush draw. But he had gone all in his SB and BB earlier and I thought he was trying to steal. The Lucky Asian guy called me and the turn was a Js.. I checked here and the Asian goes all in and he turns over AQ, the first all in turns over J9 diamonds....How does he call a 1200 raise with J9d I do not know, Anyway the river was a 7d and he hit his flush and I busted to the arrogant Lucky guy who beat me earlier with KQ spades.

It's my fault for calling the 4200 raise I could of gotten out cheap and still had chips to play.

I never put the Lucky guy on an Ace,I didn't look at him before I called the all in by J9. I hate when I get greedy and I hate when I do not listen to the voice in my head that told me I should fold because the guy hit his set. Even though I was wrong,I should of listened because he ended up winning a huge pot and I was on my way home after 3/12 hours of play.

I know you have to gamble to win,but I need to pick better spots. The initial raise in my position was correct, but as you all know there is a lot of luck involved and its amazing Mr. Lucky flopped 2 pair AQ...more so for the J9 guy hitting his flush, either way If I was heads up against Lucky I still lose.

Maybe I was feeling lucky because I hit 2 straights and I told myself BE PATIENT do not get stupid, this is a good table with quality players. Oh well theres another tournament Thursday, but its at 7:15 and I work Friday morning so I am not sure I am going to play. I may just wait till Sundays fan appreciation $100.00 Nl event that starts at 4:15. There will be a lot of people I am sure, but I have not been getting enough rest lately and Heavenly Holdem starts next week at Commerce.

There were 172 players last night and the field busted very fast. When I left there were only about 80 players at the beginning of level 7.

I hope you all have a good week and Best of Luck to Mike Grazc, Bryan Devonshire and J.C. Tran who are still left in the Bellagio event. Gus Hansen has a sick amount of chips, but easy come, easy Go......

Tom 'durrr' Dwan's Pink Feather Prop Bet Hat Charity Auction

Internet phenom Tom 'durrr' Dwan has won tens of millions online over his short career, but definitely suffered a loss the night before the WPT Championship. Although chronically late, Tom promised that he would be on time to a bar to meet his friends including Alan Sass. Tom was late and, as a result, would have to wear a different hat of Alan's choosing for the duration of the WPT championship. The hat from Day 1 was either stolen or accidentally thrown away, but we have procured the pink feather hat the Tom wore on Day 2. We decided that with all of Tom's recent exposure and his hoards of fanboys online, we could probably get a decent amount of money for charity if we auctioned off the hat. The proceeds will go to a charity of either Tom or the winner's choosing (or some kind of split).

Stars and Stripes..Bicycle Casino

Saturday I decided to play in the Stars and Stripes $225.00 Multi-Rebuy NL Event at the Bicycle Casino at the last minute. I was on my way home and as I approached the 710 frwy southbound on the 10 frwy east,I took the exit towards the Bike.

I told myself I was not going to re-buy and I only had enough cash on me to pay the entry fee. I left my ATM card in my truck so I would not be tempted to change my mind if need be.

I went down to 400 chips early in the second level and at the break after the third level I worked my way up to 1150 in chips.

I had not seen a hand over 10-10 and I hit a few flops in position and as we came back from break and there were no more re-buys I knew being so short stack i was going to have to make some good reads and hope for some cards. There were only 99 players but there were 112 rebuys and add ons and I was probably the shortest stack in the room.

I literally did not see a pocket pair over JJ. the one hand that got me up to 7500 in chips was AQ hearts when I went all in preflop with 5 callers. I rivered a flush and it put me back in the ball game.

I hung in until there were 16 players left and I had 10,500 when this one player who was getting under everyone's skin with his loud mouth and raising every hand, raised under the gun to 1200 when the blinds were 1200-600. I was in the cutoff and had KJ and I went all in. he turned over 88 and I could not belive I picked the wrong spot again. However a J hit the flop and I doubled up and with the blinds and antes had 25,000 in chips. I had 87 clubs the next hand in the small blind when the blinds were 2000-1000 and 13 people left. The final 27 played some outstanding poker and only the final 9 were going to make the money tonight.I had blinded down to about 14,000 and with 5 limpers again it only cost me another 1000 to see a flop. A-7-7 and one guy called 4,000 and I went all in. he thought for quite awhile and folded AJ face up.If he would not of limped I would have folded and probably would have not made the final table.

The field decided to pay the top 10 and i went to the final table with only 11,500 in chips as the blinds were up to 3000-1500 with a 500 ante.

Again I had no hands to make a move and I busted out 7th for $1435.00 Not a bad profit for the evening, but I wish I could go to a final table and be able to do something. The guy who knocked me out 6th last month also made the final table but he busted 9th this time.

I played some of my best Poker against some very good players and was extremely happy to make another final table. I have made the money 4 times this year in quality tournaments and I hope my good fortune continues.

I want to wish my good friend, Jorge Pineda for winning last nights $335.00 NL event.

I am going to play the $335.00 tomorrow night. It has one re-buy and the field will not be more than 120 people. I need a quality showing and hopefully a win to have some extra money for this years WSOP.

I had to work this weekend and i hate to play when i am working, but I made it through a busy weekend and I will get a good sleep tonight as I am off the next three days.

Take care all and good luck to Nam and Allen Le Mike Grazc and Mark Seif along with Chad Brown who are all still in the 25k Bellagio WPT Event. Also Bryan Devonshire is fourth in chips after getting knocked down to about 10k earlier today.

Good Luck Fellas.........
