Mr. David "Chip" Reese

I am still a little dazed by this morning's news about Mr. Reese. I have met him and spoke with him on a few occasion's while he was here in LA for legends and the LA Poker Classic.

I was surprised how cordial he was to me since I was just another person in a Poker room.Mr Reese and I have a few things in common. We both have the same Birthday, March 28th...his was 1951 mine is 1956. We both love our family as well as poker and we both grew up in Ohio.

Mr.Reese had gastric bypass surgery a few years ago. Playing poker as many hours as he did, people tend to get out of shape and our eating habits are very poor. Also Mr. Reese played in the day of the smoke filled Poker rooms and as we know second hand smoke is not good for our health.

No one knows for sure and it's not important to me, how Mr. Reese passed. He was not feeling well and had some symptoms that he was taking some medication for. He contacted his doctor before going to sleep last night and sometime in the night he passed.

Whatever caused Mr. Reese to pass caused so many of us instant grief. The cause is not important, its the loss of a great man that is.

My thoughts and prayers go out to all of his family and close friends and to all of you who are grieving at this terrible news.

I will be in Vegas tomorrow and I am sure all poker rooms will be just a little quieter, as people mourn the loss of a Legend!
