ACES ACES ACES and more ACES

As I told you a few weeks ago when I made the final table at the Winning of the Green Event I was beat by the small blind who was holding pocket ACES when I pushed with pocket Kings from the cutoff and I finished sixth out of 277 people.

Last Wednesday while playing in the $345.00 NL event at the Hustlers Spring Fever Tournament my pocket ACES were cracked by a straight on the turn after a flop of A-10-7. I had hit my set but my opponent who had gone all in pre-flop with KJ turned a Queen and after playing very solid I was sent home around 50th in a field of 300.

Sunday Night I played at Hollywood Park casino in the $125.00 NL unlimited re-buy event. I did not re-buy and when we were down to 54 players I only had 7,000 in chips. We started with only a 1000 but it was a tough evening and every time I had a hand it was in a small pot. I pushed with KK again when 3 limpers came in when the blinds were 600-300. The guy to my left thought for about 3 minutes and finally called me with AQ and of course an ACE on the flop and ACE on the turn. Oh that drive to Fontana of 65 miles was longer!!!

Last night I played in the Larry Flynt's Spring Fever $255.00 NL tournament with 283 entrants. As I said last week I really enjoy playing in this card room. The staff is SUPER friendly, the food is good and the decor is outstanding. It's by far the nicest place top play here in Southern California for Tournaments.

We were getting close to the money and the blinds jumped from 3000-1500-500 to 5000-2500-1000. A very steep jump. I had just one a hand with my KK against AJ in an all in against this women who had miss played her big stack the hand before with QQ. I even spiked a third King on the river and I now had 32k in chips. I was still one of the short stacks though. I started out strong again in this tournament and had several levels of being card dead but I never got the rush I needed to build a stack where I could raise people of their blinds.

There were mostly all in calls at my table and as we hit 28 instead of going hand for hand everyone agreed to pay the 28th spot. I had only 17,000 chips and I look down at QQ and push it all in. AGAIN!!!!!! the Big Blind has ACES!!!!!! and the board was all low and I along with another player busted at the same time. So after 61/2 hours of play I was paid $375.00 for a 120.00 profit. However I played very good again, won one race caught a hand 2 times to keep me alive and I truly see things starting to change for me at the tables. It seems to always be just one hand near the end that gets me. But with QQ and short stacked I had no choice but to put them all in the middle and hope no one had KK or AA. Soon it will be my turn to have the best hand near the end of one of these events and I will be able to say FINALLY instead of driving the 65 miles home and wondering why this constantly happens to me in almost every event I go deep. But I am "Keeping things in their proper Perspective"

I am going to rest and do some Honey DO's around the House this week. So I hope all of you have a great week and take care and be safe!!
