Last night I went back to the Hustler Casino to give the $340.00 NL Holdem event a shot. I thought about going to Hollywood Park and playing there $340.00 event but I decided the Hustler would have more players and when you compare the two venues,Hustler wins hands down.

There were 180 entrants last night at the Hustler and I am sure Hollywood Park had about half that much. The guarantee at the Hustler was $45,000.

I do not want to knock Hollywood Park, because a good friend of mine, Jay is the tournament director at Hollywood Park. On a scale from 1-10 the Hustler is a 10 and the room we play in at Hollywood Park is a 1...

The GOOD news is I didn't get any bad beats last night..The BAD news is...I didn't have any cards to get bad beat with.

I had 88 the first hand and lost only 75 chips..I had 44 a few hands later and lost 100 chips I then had AA with 6 limpers when the blinds were 150-75 so I just moved all in as I was the button. One guy at the table told me not to do that again so I showed him the Aces before mucking.. The table had a good laugh at him and this hand allowed me to steal some small pots later. After this I had pocket 7's in level 4 and I did not have a pocket pair the rest of the night as I busted 45th with my last 3900 chips with K-9 spades against AQ off. I hit a 9 on the flop but my opponent also hit his Ace.

I was so very patient last night. I played to level 9 with garbage. Picking up the small pots just to stay alive. I was becoming frustrated, but I took a deep breath and closed my eyes to get back focusing on winning. When you keep getting 2-7 2-4 3-7 all night it begins to wear on you. I did the best with what I had last night and in Poker there are nights like this. I am just waiting for the night I have a mad rush early and late to get me that win I have been so close too lately.

There are no big events until May here in Southern california, The Bike has a small buy in event starting April 10th, Stars and Stripes. However heavenly Holdem starts in May at the Commerce and I am going to save up and play those events. In the mean time I will be getting my spring chores done around the house and I promised my girls to take them to the River to go boating.
