Mark Newhouse joined the ranks of a select few who have acquired
millionaire status by way of the World Poker Tour, surviving
539 of the world’s top pros to win the 2006 Borgata
Poker Open. Entering the final table with the chip lead, a
combination of solid play and good fortune allowed Newhouse
to hold off his opponents and secure the title, landing him
$1,519,020 for his efforts.
David Sklansky, long time professional and esteemed poker
author, reached his first World Poker Tour final table, finishing
3rd, good for $419,040. Also reaching his first televised
World Poker Tour final table was Chris McCormack, who has
cashed three times on the tour, including a 7th place finish
during season three at the World Poker Finals.
Chris Bell is also no stranger to the WPT. He finished 3rd
at the Mirage Poker Showdown during season four and his 5th
place finish at the Borgata brings his lifetime winnings on
the WPT to $738,142. Anthony Argila and Blaise Ingoglia, both
WPT rookies, finished 4th and 6th respectively.
